6 Ways to Avoid being Hooked by a Phishing Scam:
1) Your credit union would never send you an e-mail asking you for account information.
2) Do not respond to any e-mail requests for personal financial information.
3) Delete any suspicious e-mails.
4) Never disclose any personally identifying information if requested from an unsolicited e-mail or phone call. This includes account information, credit card information, Social Security number, mother's maiden name, or other private information. Never reveal a private PIN number or other passwords.
5) Be suspicious if you're asked to enter personally identifying information into an unexpected pop-up window - no matter how "official" it might look.
6) Review your credit union statements for any unauthorized charges.
